A page explaining why a repair failed and a page announcing a seasonal offer are doing different jobs, and prose that treats them identically reads as stamped. Picking the voice at the start of the piece is a two-second decision that changes the whole draft.
One house voice, departures on request
The business keeps one saved voice, which is the default every new piece starts from. A per-article pick is a deliberate departure from it rather than a new setting to maintain. That keeps the common case free and the exception explicit.
Write your own if none of them fit
The six named voices cover most of what local businesses ask for, and the custom option exists because some businesses have a register that does not have a name. You describe it, and the writer works to your description.
What it does not do
Worth knowing before you buy, not after.
- One saved voice per business. If you need genuinely separate house voices for separate brands, that is separate businesses in the product today.
- The pick resets to your house voice every time you start a new piece. It is per-article by design, not sticky.
- Rewriting a single section on its own does not carry the article's voice choice, so a section rewritten in isolation can come back in the house voice.
- A voice changes register, not facts. It will not make a thin piece substantial.

What buyers ask before they start
Can I set a different default voice?
The business keeps one saved house voice and that is the default. A per-article pick is a departure from it, and it resets on the next piece so you do not inherit last week's choice by accident.
What if none of the six fit?
Write your own. The custom option takes your description of the register you want, which is the honest answer for businesses whose voice does not match a named preset.
Does the voice apply if I rewrite one section?
Not today. A section rewritten on its own can come back in the house voice rather than the article's pick, so it is worth a read after.
