AI visibility for collision repair

The car went where the tow driver took it. That was nobody's decision.

Somewhere in the next day and a half the owner picks a shop and tells the adjuster where the car is going. She makes that call on a phone, at night, out of whatever she has read, and increasingly what she has read is an AI answer naming two or three shops. There is no considered purchase here and no crisis call either. There is a day of somebody reading.

Why this market needs answer visibility

She was not shopping this morning and she will have decided by tomorrow. The only businesses in that window are the ones already written about.

A list of tracked buyer questions with their source keywords, above filters for discovered and custom questions.
Tracked buyer questions from a pilot account, anonymized. Each is tested against the nine surfaces we track today.

A day and a half of reading

This is the unusual shape of the trade. The customer had no intention of buying anything today, and by the day after tomorrow she has chosen. Nothing you do in that window reaches her unless it was already published, which makes this one of the few categories where the entire competition happens before the customer exists.

What she is actually asking

Whether she has to use the shop her insurer suggested. What certification means and whether it matters for her car. How long she will be without it. Whether the repair will show. Those questions get answered by somebody, and right now that somebody is usually a national directory rather than a shop with a paint booth.

The certifications are the differentiator and they are invisible

I-CAR, OEM certifications, the training your techs actually hold: these are real and they are the thing she would care about if she knew to ask. Most shops keep them on a wall. An assistant filtering for a qualified shop can only work with what is written in sentences, so the shop that wrote them down is the shop that gets named.

What it does not do

Worth knowing before you buy, not after.

  • It does not write about insurance coverage or what a carrier owes you. Explaining that to a consumer edges into claims advice, which several states license, so those pages are off the table here and belong to somebody qualified.
  • It does not write about price, estimates, or repair guarantees. State repair-dealer advertising rules govern all three.
  • It does not manage estimates, scheduling, or your shop management system, and it does not guarantee an AI engine will name you.

Ask an assistant how somebody in your town should choose a collision shop after an accident. See who it names. The free AI Mirror Test runs that question across all nine surfaces we track today and prints every question it asked, so nothing in the result has to be taken on trust.

Questions

What buyers ask before they start

Most of our work comes through insurer programs. Why does this matter?

For the share that does not, and that share is the most profitable work most shops take. A customer who chose you directly is a different job from a program assignment, and this measures whether she can find you.

Can it write about what my insurance should cover?

No, and this is a deliberate limit rather than a gap. Telling a consumer what her carrier owes her edges toward claims advice, which several states license, so we keep the drafting away from it entirely. What it can write is everything about your shop, your certifications, and what the repair process actually looks like.

How much work is this?

Less than it sounds. The questions that decide shop choice in one town are a short list, and most shops have answered none of them in writing. An outline comes back in about ninety seconds and a polished piece takes roughly five minutes of your attention.
